Renault & Nissan want to be the major architects of the Electric Vehicle Ecosystem.
Renault is launching 4 Electric Vehicles in 2011 and 2012.
To support the E.V. market development, Renault has built major partnerships to strengthen the E.V. ecosystem:
- Partnerships for PRIVATE CHARGING offers with energy providers as EDF or RWE and infrastructure manufacturers as Schneider Electric.
« Z.E. BOX” offer is proposed in Renault network, including battery rental subscription and installation of the « Wall- Box », home charging unit.
- Partnerships for PUBLIC CHARGE INFRASTRUCTURE development with regions as North Rhein-Westphalia, energy providers EDF or RWE, infrastructure manufacturers as Schneider Electric, R&D centers as CEA... This development is managed through the EV READY collective label for EV technical certification (standards & regulations, safety & interoperability).
Public infrastructure and Cameleon on-board charger.
|The Public CHARGE INFRASTRUCTURES reached 15,000 spots IN EUROPE END 2011.
The quick development of the infrastructure is enabled by Renault QUICK CHARGING SYSTEM « CAMELEON ».
CAMELEON CHARGING SYSTEM is fully integrated in the vehicle, thanks to its compact dimensions (same as a standard charger).
It enables quick charge without an external AC/DC converter, and is compatible with all AC and DC power supplies until 43kW.
TYPE 2 AC till 22 kW is already a widespread standard in Europe. Thanks to CAMELEON, full charge time is achieved in 1h for an affordable infrastructure cost.
